2015.06.22- 3 Months in Portugal!

I love it here. Simple as that.
Last Pday, we tried going to a Chinese Buffet, but they were closed so that was a bummer, but we will try again. It is pretty cheap, and it is a Chinese buffet!
On Tuesday we had a Zone Conference with another Zone (Santarem) and President and Sister Fluckiger were there. Was really good! :) we worked on teaching simply, and inviting people to baptism! Also, was kinda of a goodbye for President and Sister Fluckiger :( They will be missed. We got to give them hugs at the end :)
Probably one of my favorite parts of this work is finding/working with the less actives! :) And we have found out that we have a lot of part-member families. That is basically a gold mine. Because it helps us with Member Present Lessons, Reactivation, and Potential Baptisms! :) I love the less actives, they have such a simple, but powerful testimony, they just need some encouragement! :) So that's what we did on Wednesday. Also, gave a blessing to our Bishop, and it was pretty sweet just to serve him and help him out in anyway.

Thursday- Had a family night with Gildo and his son Junior. LAs and his wife hasn't been baptized yet! It was pretty fun. Played a game called "Dont eat Pete" or in Portuguese, "Nao Come Joao" Haha that was fun.
Friday- 3 Months in Portugal. Helped some members with English :) Our 1st Councilor in the Bishopric is learning English so he can go to BYU and get a Phd!
Saturday- We had a lesson with a woman named Maria de Luz. Or, Mary of Light. :) She is pretty cool, knows that the church and the Book of Mormon are true, but she doesn't want to go to church. She also thinks that just about every church is true. We have alot of these tolerant people up here in the North. Pretty interesting to work with them.
Sunday- Church was good. The Elders Quorum President gave an awesome talk on the Atonement. It was like a mix of Elder Holland's and Elder Uchtdorf's talks from General Conference. So good! :)
I am so grateful for the Grace of Christ, and I know that no matter what, we CAN NOT give up! Never give up!!! No one is too far gone, no one has sinned to much, because the Atonement of Jesus Christ covers it all!!! EVERY THING!

Elder Holland: "Jesus Christ, the Only Begotten Son of God, suffered, died, and rose from death in order that He could, like lightning in a summer storm, grasp us as we fall, hold us with His might, and through our obedience to His commandments, lift us to eternal life."

Elder Utchdorf: "Salvation cannot be bought with the currency of obedience; it is purchased by the blood of the Son of God... We are not saved “because” of all that we can do. Have any of us done all that we can do?... Many people feel discouraged because they constantly fall short. They know firsthand that “the spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.” They raise their voices with Nephi in proclaiming, “My soul grieveth because of mine iniquities.”  I am certain Nephi knew that the Savior’s grace allows and enables us to overcome sin."
Dont give up. Never give up. Remember that obedience to the commandments is us showing our love for Christ's Grace.

Dai-lhes os Céus!

Aveiro has a pretty "city seal" :) Just about every town has some of these "Patches" :)

And my comp :) He is a little sunburnt. It has been pretty hot and humid here.
