2016.28.11- Volleyball on the Beach!

Pday was awesome!!!! :) We had a District Pday seeing that it was the last for our dear friend Elder Moeller! Our original plans were to go to Castelo do Queijo (Cheese Castle) on the beach, and check that place out, but then we learned that it cost 7 euros to get it, and we figured that it wasnt worth it. However, we brought a volleyball to play on the beach. It was awesome! It was so nice to chill by the ocean, relax, and play volleyball! After that we went to Burger King and ate well! :) I took some photos and I'll include them in this email!

This week went alright in terms of proselyting. We got to teach that Brazilian family, but they didnt like the idea of just one true church. They believe that when Christ comes again, he will get all the elect from all the churches. The elect Catholics, Protestants, Mormons, JWs, etc. We tried explaining authority and restoration, but it didnt stick with them. :( However, they are very nice and they said we are always welcome to come back. We will see if we return.

We also had a lesson with our RC José who is preparing to serve a mission. Lately, he hasnt been going to church, so we have been getting after him about that. We will see about this week. Also, our ward mission leader asked to pass by a LA in Gondomar named Manuel Sousa. After a little bit of searching we found him! He let us in, and we had a great conversation with him. He stopped going to church early this year. :( He has been sealed in temple to his wife, all his kids and grandkids have been baptized. One of his sons went on a mission, and then baptized his wife and they got sealed. And now unfortunately, all are less active. So here comes and awesome reactivation project. :) There is definitely potential.

In the office world, everything seems to be running smoothly. Elder Wait is picking up fast. This next week should be pretty busy seeing that is both the beginning of the month, and the end of the transfer. Transfers next week! They are going to be insane. I'm gonna have to end up helping Elder Valentine again. He also has to help a few missionaries with SEF (Residency), so we will see how this goes. Also 13 missionaries are going home this transfer, and 15 are coming in. So it'll be insane! But hey, it is office life! :)

I love you all! This week we had a Zone Conference on Thursday Thanksgiving!!! :D We even had a special Thanksgiving lunch! And the office is reaping the benefits of the leftovers. :D Unfortunately, we didnt get to catch the second half because Elder Valentine had to do SEF for some Sisters. But, the morning part was very spiritual, and I learned a lot about repentance, and judging. The theme I would take away was work on your "repentance list" and help others do the same! Every one is in the race together, and so it doesnt help that we push and pull each other down.

Até mais,
Elder Yoder
